The Long Run

I was invited to ride with friends in the Tribes MC to a party in Moncton Canada. Seeing how I haven’t made a long ride like this in a long time, it seemed like the thing to do. It took us two days of hard riding and 1,200 miles the long way avoiding New York City. If you have ever ridden in the Big Apple area you know why. They have potholes that can swallow eighteen wheelers, and traffic jams that can cook an air cooled V-Twin.

Luck would have it a heat wave had settled in on the Atlantic coast providing us with a blast furnace in our face all the way up. We got to Canada to find hard core bikers riding in shorts because their thick blood wasn’t use to 90 degree weather. Upon arriving in Moncton the Bacchus MC took us to their air conditioned Cub House and treated us like family. They fed us, took us out on the town, and gave us a place to sleep. They never let us pay for anything, and made sure we were well taken care of.

After leaving Canada we split off into different groups, going in different directions. I stopped off in Maine and stayed with an old Friend of the Tribes MC. After a couple of days one of the Tribes MC, and I meandered our way down to western Maryland to meet up with some old brothers, and check out East Coast Sturgis.

A special thanks to the Tribes MC for having me along, and treating me like family. To Rusty of SM City for helping make my bike bullet proof. The Professor, friends, & associates on the Mechanics Forum for expanding my knowledge of motorcycle mechanics. And the fine folks at Fox Creek Leather for supplying me with all the essentials for safe and comfortable riding.
