Norman "Stormin Norman" Greene

The first, and as yet only 50 year member of the HELLS ANGELS MOTORCYCLE CLUB, Stormin Norman was 75 years young when he departed this life, reuniting with the many HELLS ANGELS who have passed away over the years and now ride together in Valhalla. Norm passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 9, 2004 after a 20 year battle with diabetes and heart disease. Norm was a veteran of World War II and was honorably discharged from the U.S. ARMY only when it was discovered he was only 15 when he enlisted. As a proud American, willing to fight and die for his country, he had altered his birth certificate in order to enlist. Norman was proud to be one of the founding members of the San Francisco ("FRISCO") Chapter of the HELLS ANGELS MOTORCYCLE CLUB in 1954, back when our club was in the early stages of the transition from DREAM to REALITY. Norm dedicated his life to HELLS ANGELS and our beliefs, standing tall for 50 years as an example of what and who true HELLS ANGELS are. Norman was a FRISCO member, and d___ proud of it, for the first 25 years he was in the club. In the late 1960s, he began to visit Sonoma County, where he fell in love with the area and the people. He transferred in the mid '70s and spent his next 25+ years as a member of the Sonoma County Chapter. He held the offices of President and Vice-President at different times, refusing to slow down even when his health began to fail in the early 1990s. STORMIN NORMAN maintained and rode his Harley all over California and the rest of the United States right up until shortly before his death. Norm is survived by his sisters, Marlene and Linda, his sons, Roger and Larry, and his daughter, Christine. Visitation and viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2004 at LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL, 4321 Sonoma Hwy, Santa Rosa. LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL will open their doors on Sunday, April 18 at 9:00 a.m. for visitation and seating. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Following the services, a procession will escort STORMIN NORMAN to his final resting place at the CALVARY CATHOLIC CEMETERY, 2930 Bennett Valley Rd., Santa Rosa, for grave site services and burial.
