Now She's Mine

Neglected and abused
For far to many years
She sat in the dark
Alone wondering why
She gave you the best
Years of her life
As she grew older
You went and found
A younger model
She felt betrayed
No longer loved
Never shed a tear though
Until that day you brought
That younger steel mare home
For the first time in her life
A drop of her oil leaked
And hit the darkened ground
When she heard the news
You were trading her off
For a short pile of green
She was scared of what
Might happen to her now
Who would her new owner be
Well now she's mine
Took off her P pad and told her
Baby it's just you and me
Dusted off the cobwebs
First kick and she roared to life
She bucked in second but then
Smoothed out for the long haul ride
Thirty years old and doing eighty
She felt like a virgin again
One with the road one with my ride
Not a care in the world
'Cause now she's mine
